Simone & Dave (September 29, 2007)
I don’t get too many weddings that take me into the city itself, so this weekend’s wedding in downtown Boston was a rare treat!
We started with Simone and her family in her suite at the Colonnade Hotel, near Copley Square. From her room on the 8th floor we had a great view of the Christian Science Church Plaza from the floor to ceiling windows that made up one wall. Those windows also provided some beautiful light for the photographs of her and her family getting ready.
Once she was dressed, we wendered around the beautiful halls of the Colonnade taking advantage of the striking tile floors, then we wandered over to the Christian Science Church plaza for a few portraits of Simone. Then it was off to BU’s Marsh Chapel for the ceremony.
After the ceremony we walked around the grounds of the chapel for a bit taking photos and waiting for the rented bus to return to pick us up. As it got darker and later, the best man popped in to say that the bus was moving very slowly through the crowds of celebrating Red Sox fans, and would be late. Undeterred, Simone and Dave grabbed a cab, which got us back to the Colonnade in record time.
Back at the Colonnade, we enjoyed a delicious dinner, and great entertainment, provided by the band, then Simone and Dave cut up the floor with the smoking swing dance routine they had learned for their first dance!
