Savannah & Doug (September 1, 2007)
It was a great privilege, being asked to photograph Savannah & Doug’s wedding, and a great adventure! The wedding took place at the historic Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO. Built in 1907, The Stanley is best known as the hotel that inspired Stephen King to write “the Shining” after an evening as the only guest. Located at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park, it was one of the most beautiful settings I have ever seen.
Even more exciting than the venue, however, was the couple. Doug is my Brother in Law, and his new wife, Savannah, has been a member of the family since we all met her at Thanksgiving a few years ago. Being so close to everyone involved in the affair made it particularly meaningful to me. Warmest congratulations to Doug and Savannah!

Did you seriously take a photo of “The Shining” in front of the dress? That is so cool.
The Sepia is gorgeous, and I love the sitting on the rock image!
