Kim and Brendan got married on Saturday…twice!

We started out at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel where Kim had her makeup done, and dressed in the first of two wedding dresses - a traditional Vietnamese dress of beautiful magenta silk. Once dressed we headed out to her parent’s house in Watertown for the first ceremony. There we met the grooms family, all gathered outside with trays of gifts. Once inside the groom asked the bride’s family for her hand in marriage (they said yes). Finally it was upstairs where the bride’s family introduced the couple to their ancestors at the family shrine. Then we ate!

After lunch we headed back to the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. Kim headed upstairs to don her second dress, then we met up for photos. Since the couple was already married, we were able to get all of the photos before the ceremony, and the Fairmont provided a bunch or great nooks and crannies for beautiful portraits. Then it was time for ceremony #2 in the beautiful Oval room. Since the photos were all done, Kim and Brendan were able to enjoy the cocktail hour with their friends and family before heading back into the Oval room for the fun-filled reception.
