So remember when you were a kid, and your favorite time of year was the week in the middle of summer when you got to go away to summer camp?  Julie and Brendan’s wedding at Whispering Pines Conference Center in West Greenwich, Rhode Island was just like that!

My day began in the rustic, wood paneled suite where Julie was getting ready.  The fun began early, and Julies friends and family made their way in and out of the suite, chatting and laughing, and having a good time, while Julie had her hair and makeup done.  Soon she was all ready, and we headed out for a secret pre-ceremony meeting with Brendan on a beach across the lake.  After allowing them a moment together as they saw each other for the first time, we began their portrait session…first on the beach where they met, then into a field of high grass, where they braved all of the summer bugs!

Next it was back for the beautiful outdoor ceremony on the shores of the lake.  The late afternoon sun sparkled through the trees, as the wedding guests filed in to the sound of a guitar and banjo, played by friends of Julie and Brendan.  Then the bride arrived, escorted by her father down the rose strewn lawn, and the happy couple were wed with smiles and tears of joy.   Julie and Brendan’s plan allalong was to enjoy as much of the party as possible, so we quickly gathered the family for their photo session.

Then it was time for the fun.  Since Julie and Brendan had chosen to do their photos before the wedding, they were able to join in to the festivities while the cocktail hour was still in full swing.  After that it was a blur of celebration.  Dinner was served, toasts, dances, cake…then the awesome band (“Ruby” from Boston) kicked it in to high gear, and the party really took off!  As I was leaving, the flicker of the bonfire was just starting to make its way into the night sky, and I can only imagine the marshmallow roasting fun!
