Yesterday, I had the privilege of being a part of a new family officially coming together…but not in the way I am usually a part of these events. This was an adoption ceremony, where Jeremiah officially became a part of Lisa and Matt’s family.

The day started at the Worcester Court House, where the ceremony took place. After having a chance to play judge, witness, and juror in the courtroom with his cousin, Jeremiah was fully prepared when the judge came in and began the ceremony. After everyone signed the papers, the judge, then Jeremiah, banged the gavel on the table, and the adoption was complete.

Then we headed off to the Higgins House at WPI to celebrate the new family with a few photos. Jeremiah has been talking about how his adoption was going to be him “married” into the family, so Mom and Dad celebrated the occasion with boutonnieres. Jeremiah was a natural model!

Congrats to Lisa, Matt, and their new son Jeremiah, and thanks for making me a part of your special day!
