Chargers at Patriots - AFC Championship 01.20.08
As a lifelong Patriots fan, when I found out that my friend, Steven Frischling, had been hired to photograph the game for a major news service, I jokingly offered to come along to carry his lenses and keep him from getting bowled over by a charging linebacker. When he responded by saying I could come along as his “field editor”, I jumped at the chance. When, a few days later, he told me he had secured full field photographer credentials for me, and that I would be able to shoot when I wasn’t needed to help transmit photos to his employer, I just about jumped out of my skin! It was one of the coolest things that I have had a chance to be a part of…and, of course, the historic 18-0 win made it even better. A big thank you to Fish for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Congrats on Luke’e little brother! You are one good photographer, and these are great shots. Color, clarity,composition….wow! What lens did you use for these?

Ben, I shot most of these with my 5D and 70-200 + 1.4 Kenko extender. Even so, they are still pretty heavily cropped. Gotta love those 13MP 5D files!

I would love to have the 5D too…may be after a few more weddings and a couple of handful of HS Seniors this year!
You need the Canon EF 400mm f/2.8L IS USM Lens to help you with the cropping issues
