This weekend I got to catch up with some of my oldest and dearest clients…and boy I wasn’t expecting to be looking them in the eye!  I started photographing Paige and Ryan when they were 2 and 4 years old.  When I last caught up to them, around two years ago, they were still kids.  Now they’re teenagers, and my mind is a little blown…where has all that time gone so fast!

For this shoot, we picked one of our favorite locations from a session I did with them many years ago: Horn Pond in Woburn.  We began by the pond itself, working our way through a few combinations of family photos with grandparents and an aunt, and their amazing Mom, Christine, before wandering down to the water side with just the “kids”(man I sound old!)   I quickly discovered that Paige and Ryan hadn’t let their modeling skills fall by the wayside, or their obvious fondness for each other as we continued our hike past the power station where we had utilized the High Voltage signs last time.  Continuing our literal hike down memory lane, we walked down the forested paths in search of the random fire hydrant that we’d found in the woods last time.  On the way we discovered a cool rock bench where we took a quick break, and an amazing old tree that was just begging to be climbed.  When we finally found the object of our search, both young almost adults took one look at it and said…”I remember it being bigger”.  Yeah, well, about that…

How do you top one cute baby at a photo shoot?  Add his twin brother and make it a double!  And that is exactly what i did when I photographed 4 month old twins, Kristian and Kurt at their beautiful lakefront home in Chelmsford, MA.

When I arrived the twins were hanging out with Grandma on their play mat and having a grand old time.  When Mom arrived we headed into their bedroom to check out their cool adjoining cribs, and let them check out their handsome faces in the mirror.  The were delighted with themselves!  It was such a nice day out, that we decided to explore the great outdoors, first in their lakeview playpen, then on an awesome squishy beanbag.  Dad came home just as we were finishing up on the porch, and we took the opportunity to get the whole family together in the backyard for their first formal family portrait.  Even Bella, the family dog, got in on the shots.  All of that photographing is a lot of work when you are only 4 months old, and a nap was in order. And none of the grown ups protested…

This weekend, I met the smilingest, happiest, 4 month old baby that I have had the pleasure of photographing…oh, and her parents too :)!

I met Yan and Natalie at a wedding a few years back where Yan was the best man.  So it was a real pleasure to catch up, and to meet the lovely Gabriella for the first time at their beautiful North End apartment.  Gabby came armed with a large stack of personalized pink outfits, and a Mom who was not afraid to use them!  Properly suited up, she was ready for her debut in front of the camera.  We began in Mom and Dad’s bedroom, where Gabby cuddled with Mom, and nestled into the big, soft, pillows on the bed.  The across the hall into Gabby’s room, where she continued her tour-de-cuteness on a pink floor rug and in a rocking chair with her favorite bear.  Downstairs, we took advantage of the great light in the living room to capture more smiles, then I climbed out on a narrow ledge above the living room to document that Gabby’s great smiles are hereditary.  After a quick stop on her 4 legged brother, Colby’s, favorite spot, the whole family bundled up against the brisk fall air, and we headed outside.  First we headed down the awesome brick alleyway behind their apartment, where Gabby was tolerant enough to allow us to pile leaves around her, then we headed down to Christopher Columbus park where Gabby gave one final effort of cuteness before an uncontrollable urge to nap took over.
