It’s that time of year when I get to catch up with my favorite families as they prepare for the holiday season with a family portrait session.  And this weekend was no exception as I traveled to Waban MA ho hang out with my favorite almost 4yo twins: Mohini and Ranesh.

As soon as I arrived, the kids led me into the formal living room, where they introduced me to their favorite stuffed pets and their couch jumping skills.  Into the family room, there were toys and smiles and pincer crab claws.  From there we headed up to the play room, where they both showed me their favorite toys, then back down to the living room, where we recreated an iconic image from one of their baby sessions.  Coating up, we finished the fun in the back yard, and the front yard, and the back yard…we did laps!

Right on schedule, lovely little Amalia arrived into the world, and I had the chance to meet her last week, when she modeled for her newborn portrait session in Boston, MA.

Since she was sleeping so soundly in Mom and Dad’s bedroom, we decided to take advantage of the soft window light (and the soundly sleeping baby), and began our session there.  Tiptoeing across the hall, we continued shooting, while she continued snoozing, in her lovely nursery.  She found a particularly cuddly spot on her favorite as-yet-to-be-named stuffed elephant.  Movie upstairs, she snoozed a little more with Mom and dad, before opening her beautiful little eyes and telling us she was a little hungry.  Snack accomplished she was ready for more snuggling, and Mom and Dad were only too happy to oblige!

Stay tuned for her next session in just a few months!

A fall wedding on the Cambridge riverside with a killer view of the Boston skyline already sounds perfect.  But it doesn’t even begin to describe the amazing party that made Danielle and Michael’s wedding at the Royal Sonesta Hotel!

The party had already began in Danielle’s suite as her friends gathered around her for lunch while her bridesmaids were downstairs for a bit of pampering.  Didn’t take long for them to return, and the leisurely lunch turned in to a mad rush of activity as the ladies all got dressed for the main event.  Once arrayed in her elegant dress, Danielle and I headed down to the river, where Michael was waiting to meet his bride.  After a happy reunion, we spent a bit of time wandering around by the riber and the hotel lobby before heading upstairs for a record number of family photos (completed in record time).

With all of the preliminaries taken care of, we headed in for the ketubah signing, followed by the beautiful ceremony overlooking the lights of Boston.  Right into the cocktail hour, the band warmed up for what followed:  An EPIC night of dancing and celebration!  As the city lights sparkled in the background, Danielle and Michael, along with all of their friends and family kept the dance floor humming until after the stroke of midnight!

Seems like just a few months ago that I was celebrating Maddy’s Bat Mitzvah with her family in Newton Center.  So I was totally surprised to find out that nearly 4 years had passed, and Maddy was ready for her Senior portraits.  It was exciting to get the chance to catch up with her as we wandered around Auburndale Park on a rainy Friday afternoon.

We hadn’t planning to shoot a rainy day session…In fact all the way up to 30 minutes before the shoot, the day had been warm and sunny.  But Maddy loves rainy days, and came prepared with a perfect, clear umbrella, and a sunny disposition.  Starting right on the ball field, we quickly wandered over to the historic part of the park, where the cool old rock walls, the beautiful stone bridge, and even the more modern mid century rec building provided a lovely riverside backdrop for the photo session.  Moving across the athletic fields, we next followed the trails into the swamp, discovering a cool old picnic area surrounded by leafy woods and high grass.  The rain was nice enough to have ended by the time we finished the session with the day’s last cloud-filtered sunlight.

It was a beautiful warm fall day last week when I headed up to Reading, MA, to catch up with the Condon family.  It’s been nearly a year since our last shoot, and the kids were more fun than ever!

Upon my arrival, I was immediately invited by James to join him watching Dora in the family room.  I caught up on my Dora, while Bridget had her hair done, then we headed upstairs where James was excited to show me his new bedroom trampoline…aka his big boy bed!  Bridget came in and wanted to show me her room too, along with her favorite baby doll.  Back downstairs we started to take a few photos on the fireplace, when a spontaneous dance party broke out.  We carried the party outside, hanging out on our favorite stump, and climbing on the cool old rock wall at the back of their property.  The session ended with smiles, fist bumps, and even more Dora!
