The Condon Family Portraits in Reading, MA (2016 Edition)
The next stop on my “favorite families that I see every fall” tour found me in Reading, MA, catching up with the Condon clan! Last time we connected, James was a joyful smile with legs, and Bridget had just made her entrance into the world. But what a difference a year makes. In Bridget at least. James is still a joyful smile with legs…they’re just a little longer this year :).
I arrived just as the young’uns were getting dressed. Bridget was fighting a bit of a cold, but she was ready to brave through for the shoot, so we started with a few solos of her looking fancy in a beautiful dress and pearls. Then she and her brother hung out by the fireplace for a few photos together before being joined by Mom and Dad. A quick outfit change for Bridget, and we ambled over to the well lit den where she showed off her red dress. Not wanting James to feel ignored, I headed outside with him, while his sister had a rest and an outfit change. He showed me his awesome climbing and sliding structure, then we spent a little time posing on the awesome stump that we hit every year. Soon we were joined again by Bridget, who had just a few more photos in her before she needed to call it a day. But, true to form, she rocked them, then headed inside for a much deserved nap!

The Koncius Family Portraits in Newburyport, MA
Continuing my 2016 fall family portrait tour, I got to reconnect with the Koncius family in Newburyport, MA, and meet the newest addition…Aiden!
We met right in downtown, with AJ wasting no time with shy avoidance, instead leading me right to the waterfront park that he and his family like to frequent. While Aiden warmed up to the idea, AJ stepped in to fulfill the primary modeling role, posing with his family, then in a cape chair on his own, then showing off his mad stunt skills…jumping off a short wall, then climbing up to jump again. It was about the time that AJ discovered some trees to climb, that Aiden decided to get in on the fun, posing cutely in the fallen autumn leaves. With both boys fully on-board, we walked a short distance to a cool antique market, where the boys explored the interesting artifacts that were displayed out front. They were so interested, that they completely missed it when Mom and Dad got a chance to model for a few beautiful shots of their own.

The Mackin Family Portraits in North Andover, MA (2016 Edition)
Continuing my weekend of reunions, I joined the Mackin family in their adorable North Andover home. When we last hung out, Anora and Bennett showed me all around their home, and generally just acted like their cute selves. A couple of years later, and they’ve only grown more cute…and grown as a family, with the introduction of young master Broderick just a few weeks ago.
It was Bennett that met me at the door with a big smile followed by a warm hug and an invitation to go play in his room. We headed upstairs, and were joined by Anora, who wasted no time telling me all about she and Bennett’s halloween. The tour continued in Brody’s room, where they were joined by the little guy in his favorite rocking chair. It was a lovely fall day, so Anora announced that we should go outside and take photos near thebeautiful tree in the front yard. So that’s what we did. While we were down there, she shyly asked if they could take photos jumping into a pile of leaves. I told her she was the boss, and we headed into the back yard, grabbing a few garden implements on the way. While Anora and Bennett created their epic leaf piles, I spent a little time with Brody, and the kid was a natural…turning on the cuteness on cue! Back to the big sibs, it was time to jump into the giant leaf pile…and jump they did…until they decided that it might be a little more fun to throw the leaves at the photographer. Then a massive leaf fight broke out, with Mom stepping in to take the brunt of the fusillade. That’s when Brody signaled that he wanted to head back inside. So we headed back up to his room, where cuddles with his favorite sock monkey (and his favorite Mom) made his day!

Mohini and Ranesh’s 2016 Portraits in Waban MA
This week I got to catch up with my favorite set of toddler twins, when I met Mohini and Ranesh for their holiday portrait at their lovely home in Waban, MA.
As soon as I arrived, they wasted no time shwoing me their love of Thomas the Train, simultaneously watching their favorite episode on an ipad and playing with the famous wooden engine. Mom and Dad soon decided to get them into the front room for a portrait, and after taking a joyful few laps around the hall, they all ended up together on the coffee table. But we weren’t done playing yet, so we headed upstairs to their playroom, where they delighted in making one another dinner. After a meal like that, it is important to have a little exercise, so they headed into Mom and Dad’s room to jump on the bed. That’s when we all decided that maybe we should check out the back yard, and all of the lovely autumn leaves…

Hermanny Family Portraits at the Grist Mill in Sudbury, MA
Continuing my weekend portrait tour, next up is the oh so cute Hermanny family, who met me bright and early on Sunday morning at the Grist Mill in Sudbury MA.
After a week of rain, it was refreshing to arrive to the gorgeous morning light and warm weather that Sunday provided. As soon as Jake and Ella jumped out of the car, they were ready to go, smiling at me as they played around the stone wall at the border to the property. Of course we had to check out the old mill, so we started our session there, Ella and Jake happily sitting next to one another on an old stone bench. But it was the water that really excited Jake, so we followed the little stream up to the lake, pausing for a few family photos on an old wooden bridge. I’d photographed Jake and his Parents here before, so we set off in pursuit of our favorite spots. As we were walking, the two little ones each took one of my hands, and melted my heart.

The Devereaux Family Portraits at Horn Pond in Woburn, MA
This weekend I got to catch up with some of my oldest and dearest clients…and boy I wasn’t expecting to be looking them in the eye! I started photographing Paige and Ryan when they were 2 and 4 years old. When I last caught up to them, around two years ago, they were still kids. Now they’re teenagers, and my mind is a little blown…where has all that time gone so fast!
For this shoot, we picked one of our favorite locations from a session I did with them many years ago: Horn Pond in Woburn. We began by the pond itself, working our way through a few combinations of family photos with grandparents and an aunt, and their amazing Mom, Christine, before wandering down to the water side with just the “kids”(man I sound old!) I quickly discovered that Paige and Ryan hadn’t let their modeling skills fall by the wayside, or their obvious fondness for each other as we continued our hike past the power station where we had utilized the High Voltage signs last time. Continuing our literal hike down memory lane, we walked down the forested paths in search of the random fire hydrant that we’d found in the woods last time. On the way we discovered a cool rock bench where we took a quick break, and an amazing old tree that was just begging to be climbed. When we finally found the object of our search, both young almost adults took one look at it and said…”I remember it being bigger”. Yeah, well, about that…
