The last time I got to hang out with Sarah and Sebastian was at their engagement photo shoot, where we walked around Castle Island in Boston. They were so excited to tell me all about their upcoming wedding in the French countryside. And Napolean, their adorable dog, was excited for the exercise! Fast forward a year later, and they are back from France, and were excited all over again to celebrate their wedding with all of their stateside family at The Porter Memorial Hall in Farmington, CT.
I met Sarah at her family home in Farmington, where her and her bridesmaids were handling the day with all of the calm of people who have already gone through this once before. They were even on hand to help Sarah’s brother push start the old BMW that was to be Sarah’s chariot to her reception. With a lot of laughter and fun, and quite a few pets for Napolean, Sarah, her family, and her bridesmaids all donned the dresses that they had worn a few weeks before across the ocean. The we loaded up the caravan, and headed just a couple of miles down the road to meet Sebastian and a few more family members for photos at the Porter Memorial Hall. With those knocked off the list, I took a lap of the awesome old church next to the hall with the newlyweds for a short portrait session as the guests arrived and listened to the fantastic jazz band that had set up. The party was just beginning as I returned Sarah and Sebastian to their guests, and was in full swing by the time I bid them good night, with smiles, laughter, great food, and a beautiful cake, made by the bride’s own father!
