One of the best part about being a wedding photographer is being there for the creation of a new family. And as the family begins to grow, I am always super excited when I get to reconnect with the couple and help document the growth of their family. So when Britney contacted me with her great news, and asked me to capture the impending arrival of her and Victor’s bundle of joy, I was all too happy to oblige!
I met Britney and Victor at their family home in Danvers MA. This session was all about Britney, so after a quick hello, Victor gave her a little space to be fabulous in front of the camera. And that she did! We began in the nursery, introducing the new little person to the plush super heros that adorn the space. Next we moved to Mom’s favorite place, her walk in closet…where the clothes and shoes whispered their lullabies to the sweet little babe that will soon be trying to walk in them. Britney is a lawyer, so we moved upstairs, where she got all businesslike in the home office. A quick outfit change, and we moved the party outside, where the warm morning sun cast a beautiful glow on the lush spring greenery. Moving in to the back yard, I was immediately drawn to the treehouse, where Britney played with her siblings when she was a wee lass…and very shortly her little one will be carrying on the same tradition!
When I first moved to Massachusetts many years ago, there was a radio jingle expressing the sentiment that, “There’s a lot to like about Lowell”. After spending the day there at Christine and Nick’s beautiful wedding at the University of Massachusetts Lowell Inn and Conference center, I have to agree!
I arrived at the ICC bridal suite just as Christine took a seat in the makeup chair for her pre wedding beautification ceremony. Since she is a natural beauty, it didn’t take long until she was finished with that part, and free to laugh and joke with her family and bridesmaids. We were having so much fun that the time flew by, and before we knew it she was stepping in to her dress, and all ready for a few bridal portraits. Photos completed, we were off to get her married!
My next stop was Saint Kathryn’s Church in Hudson NH where Nick and his groomsmen were kitting up with boutineers and greeting the guests as they arrived. Once everyone was seated, it was time for Christine to make her grand debut, escorted from the limo by her father, and directly down the aisle to Nick. They hung out at the front of the church for a bit, and when they next walked down that aisle, they were forever joined as husband and wife. While the guests filtered out, we stuck around for a bit taking photos of the happily married couple in the church garden (and the neighbor’s yard…shhhh), before joining the family at the altar for group photos.
Then we all piled into our cars (and limos) and headed back to the ICC, where the party was just awaiting the guests of honor!
