An unseasonably warm February day meant the chance to catch up with a couple of my favorite little people. And we took full advantage of the warmth and sunshine, when I met up with (now one year old) Ryan and his always entertaining big sister Ceci at Cushing Memorial Park in Framingham, MA.
Ceci and Ryan were ready to explore the park, so we immediately set off to see what it had to offer. We took a quick break at a mini picnic table before heading straight for the playground where a wealth of fun things to climb on, sit on, swing on, and (in Ryans case) show off his mobility. We crossed the bridge, stood around giant mushrooms, swung on the swingset, and even braved the super tall see saw, the kids smiling their delight every time it went up. Ceci kept us entertained with a constant stream of conversation about all of the interesting things that occupy her 5 year old mind. It was duting one f these conversations that she excitedly noticed the gazebo on the other end of the park. We started to head over, pausing to get Ryan to smile in a photogenic copse of shrubbery, and climb a tree with Ceci. We finally managed to make it to the shining Gazebo, and it was everything Ceci hoped it would be…she even paused for a moment for a cuddle with her little brother. He liked it almost as much as the bottle that followed.
Valentines weekend and love is in the chilly air…and what better way to celebrate it than with a wedding! Diana and Louis thought so, and I was honored to spend the day with them at their wedding at the Barn at Gibbet Hill in Groton MA!
I met Diana and her bridesmaids at the Hampton Inn in Westford, MA where they were relaxing in their matching robes and taking turns in the hair and makeup chairs. Before we knew it, it was time to head over to Gibbet Hill, so we headed downstairs, where the limo was waiting. When we arrived at the barn, it was on, and the ladies wasted no time getting into their dresses. Diana braved the frigid day to take a few snowy portraits before heading back inside to the warm bridal suite to await the big event. It didn’t take long, as the guests were already gathered in front of the hand made archway. As Lou smiled from the front of the aisle, Diana and her dad marched down the candle lit walkway, and the wedding was underway.
It was a beautiful ceremony, with the people that meant the most to the happy couple taking turns sharing readings and blessings. Diana and Lou exchanged rings, vows, and a kiss, walking back up the aisle as husband and wife. We headed right outside to take advantage of the last sliver of light, before hurrying back in to get out of the sub zero temperatures. After a few more family photos, the couple was ready to pary with their friends. And that’s exactly what they did, dancing the evening away as the band lit up the dance floor.
