There are fun New Year’s parties, and then there are New Year’s parties that are so legendary, that they can only be described as an extravaganza. This New Years eve, I was invited to the latter, when I photographed Bob and Dan’s amazing New Years wedding at the Endicott Estate in Dedham, MA.
Bob and Dan chose the Endicott Estate because it was an amazing venue for the type of party they had planned, and as a bonus it is only a five minute walk from their beautiful Dedham home. And that is where I met the two grooms, as they prepared for the big event in the comfort of their own bedroom. They had everything laid out, so it only took about 15 minutes for them to be dressed in their dashing tuxedos, and we headed off together for the short walk to the estate. Once their we dodged the hustle and bustle of the party preparation, and explored the antique mansion…taking full advantage of its charm, and having a lot of fun with their wedding day portraits.
They escaped upstairs as the guests started to arrive, and in no time at all, they were back downstairs…walking down the aisle to stand in front of the hand-carved fireplace while their closest friends and family took turns sharing stories about what made the happy couple so special. A ring on each of their fingers, and a kiss later, and the party was ready to begin. From start to finish they wanted this to be the greatest new years eve party ever…and they succeeded…eating and drinking and dancing their way ito 2016 and their new life together!
