Celia & Kate’s Wedding on Thompson Island in Boston, MA
I don’t care how good your weekend was, there’s no way it topped mine! I took a boat, to an amazing island in the middle of Boston Harbor, where I got to hang out with two of the happiest brides that I have ever met! And eat donuts! All this and more as I celebrated Celia and Kate’s wedding at Thompson Island in Boston Harbor.
I met Celia and her family on the dockside as we all boarded the ferry for the short hop over to the island. Once we arrived, Alicia followed Celia, and I met Kate at the Commander’s house, where she was nearly ready. After a few final details to her wardrobe and makeup, and a few photos in the historic house, she headed down the front walkway to meet her bride. A few hugs and smiles later, we jumped on the golf cart for a photo tour of the island, exploring the amazing vistas, and hidden photo treasures, as the love and laughter continued. We got back just before the ceremony, meeting the Rabbi, and signing the Ketubah amongst songs and more laughter. Walking to the shady lawn in front of the beach, Celia and Kate’s friends and family were already seated around the Chuppah, awaiting the entrance of the brides. Escorted by their parents, they walked down the aisle, and into the rest of their lives, declaring their endless love with the entire city of Boston in the background. Since we’d done all of the photos ahead of time, Celia and Kate spent the rest of the evening enjoying time with their Friends and family, dancing, and smiling, and eating lobster…and donuts!

The Schuler Family Portraits at Purgatory Chasm in Sutton, MA
A few years ago, I had the privilege of photographing Kevin and Julie’s beautiful beach wedding. Fast forward a couple of years, and I was honored to photograph their firstborn, Charlie. Charlie is a big kid now, and a big brother! Last week I was excited to meet little brother Max, when I photographed the family at Purgatory Chasm in Sutton, MA.
We met at golden hour, and wasted no time taking advantage of the beautiful evening sunset in a manicured field across from the chasm. We continued down the trail, stopping to capture the kids at the old pump house with its great stone facade, and its fields of ferns. From there we headed up to the chasm, climbing the sloping rocks together. All along we’d been promising Charlie a trip to the playground, so we headed there next; running around the space and working up an appetite for ice cream! Luckily the ice cream truck stuck around for an extra minute to serve Charlie the Ninja Turtle treat that he was craving.

Katie & John’s Engagement Portraits in Charlestown, MA
Between the heat and the afternoon rain storms, this has been a humdinger of a photo season. Luckily we scored an awesome day last week, when I met Katie and John in Charlestown, MA for their engagement portrait session.
This awesome MA couple has transplanted to parts south, but they are coming back home for their wedding in a few weeks, and wanted to capture a bit of Boston in their engagement portraits. So we wasted no time wandering into Charlestown looking for some of the antique charm that makes Boston so unique.Lukcily there’s no shortage of that in Charlestown, and we explored it all. From the charming old houses with ivied walls, to the Bunker Hill Monument, to the charming cobblestoned streets, Katie and John were always up for a cuddle or a kiss as we completed our loop. Just in time! As I pulled my car out of the parking lot, the skies opened up; pouring out a summer rain storm.
