Jumana & Sinan’s Wedding Portraits at Elm Bank Reservation in Wellesley, MA
Continuing on the theme of autumn love, this week I had the chance to photograph the wedding portraits of Jumana and Sinan at Elm Bank Reservation in Wellesley, MA.
The happy couple arrived in their wedding finery just as the afternoon sun was turning golden, and beginning its decent into night. We were quick to take advantage of the late summer flowers that were still blooming in the garden right inside the gate. Continuing our photo walk through the gardens, we paused for photos throughout the beautiful property, with Jumana and Sinan not even trying to hide their newlyweded bliss. Arriving at the big house, we spent some time on the elegant marble steps, and the lovely portico, before descending again into another set of gardens. After seeing all that the gardens had to offer, Jumana and Sinan were ready for a break. A cuddle on the bridge by the river was just what their sore feet needed, and the perfect spot to finish the fun photo session.

Francesca and Josephs Wedding at Holy Rosary Church in Larence, MA, and Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, MA
September is nearly over, and autumn love is in the air! Fall is my favorite season of all, and when you combine it with an amazing wedding, you have a recipe for a perfect day of love and laughter. And that’s exactly what was cooking on Francesca and Josephs wedding day at Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence, MA and Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, MA.
My day began at Francesca’s childhood home in Bradford, MA, where she, her family, and her 14 bridesmaids took their turns in thehair and makeup chairs in matching robes purchased for the occasion. Upstairs, one of the bedrooms had been declared the “Bridal Dress Room”, housing the beautiful wedding gown and the 35 foot train lovingly handmade by Francesca’s soon-to-be Mother in law. Great organization on Francesca’s part kept things operating smoothly, and in less time that I would have thought possible, everyone was made up and dressed, and ready to take the trolley to the church. I stayed behind for a few bridal portraits with Francesca, but it wasn’t long before a classic white Rolls Royce picked her up and whisked her off to the church.
Joe was already waiting at Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence when Francesca’s elegant ride arrived, and his face lit up when the church doors opened revealing is bride in all her glory. The smile never faded as the two of them became husband and wife in front of the packed crowd of family and friends. After the ceremony, tey greeted them all in the back of the church, then escaped down the front staircase through a corridor made up of their attendants. Back into the Rolls for the trip to Willowdale, where the afternoon sun was starting to cast its golden glow.
Taking advantage of the amazing light, we headed down to the river for a few portraits of the newlyweds before heading back up to the house to join the rest of the guests. As the sun set over the horizon, Francesca and Joe enjoyed their first dance surrounded by the love of their family and friends. And as night fell on the Willowdale tent, the love never faded, as the assembled crowd celebrated into the night.

Tammy & Rob’s Engagement Portraits in Shrewsbury, MA
They say it’s “who you know”. And when it comes to finding a beautiful private garden in the woods in neighboring Shrewsbury MA, Tammy and Rob’s connection paid off in a perfect location for their engagement session.
We met on the street next to the nondescript park bench that marked the beginning of the wooded path. It wasn’t long before we discovered pieces of art cleverly woven among the natural beauty of the wooded acres and revealing the entrance of the garden. A dry riverbed beneath a dammed lake made a perfect place to start the picture taking, and Tammy and Rob were up for the bushwhacking challenge. Back on the path we discovered a couple of perfect cuddle benches, and a mirrored tree that turned the forest into a fun house. A little further on the path, and we came to the back yard from which the sculpture garden had grown. Filled with art pieces, it was a perfect background for a variety of photos. But the crown jewel of the collection (and the engagement session) was the giant metal dinosaur that roared it’s approval of the happy couple.

Kelly & Matt’s Engagement Portraits in Wells Beach, Maine
Last week I had the opportunity to spend the afternoon on the beach on a perfect day in Wells, Maine. But lest you think my life is one of perpetual leisure, I was actually working….ok, ok, I do have the most fun job in the world. Spending time with Kelly and Matt for their engagement portraits didn’t feel like work at all!
The happy couple currently reside on a different coast, but have the perfect east coast crash pad when they visit in Matt’s parent’s home located right on the beach. It was from there that we embarked on the first half of our adventure, getting to know each other as we wandered down the perfect white beach towards the closest stone jetty. Kelly and Matt showed their sense of adventure, and their sure footedness, wandering out to the end of the stone pier. Safely back on the beach, we wandered up into the grass, where a weathered old fence still had enough life to prop them up. Back to the house for a quick change, and we headed down the street to Ogunquit. Kelly and Matt had already scoped out the old bridge, and it was the perfect place to continue the session, wandering together over it’s rickety planks. The sun was low in the sky, so we finished the session by wandering back out to the beach to take advantage of its golden glow.

Mohini & Ranesh’s Six(ish) Month Portraits in Waban, MA
This weekend I got to catch up with my favorite pair os sub 1 year old twins, as I photographed Mohini and Ranesh for their six month portrait session. Well, almost…they went and grew to almost 8 months before we were able to schedule this session. But it only served to make them even cuter!
They were just waking up from their morning nap when I arrived at their Waban, MA home. A quick trip through the Mom dressing room, and the Grandma hairdressing suite, and they were ready for their starring performances. They first hung out in the living room, showing me their soon-to-be-crawling skills on the soft shag throw rug. A quick look outside revealed that it was a perfect late summer day, so we decided to take the show to the back yard. First stop was the grassy lawn, where the twins showed their love for the outdoors by not eating a single blade. Back inside we paused for a quick outfit change before moving to the dining room and posing on the formal chairs. The shag rug was calling us again, and what better way to end the session, then on its comfortable fibers.
