The Devereux family is one of my oldest and dearest portrait clients.  It’s been acouple of years since we’ve been able to connect, so I was super excited to see how much Paige and Ryan have grown when I met them at Blue Hills Reservation in Milton, MA.

And they only goot more good looking…and more fun.  As soon as I arrived it was off to the races, exploring the cool old headquarters farm.  We started by taking a tour of the Police headquarters, climbing on the rocks that made up the facade.  Then we paused with the family for a few quick formal portraits so that the kids could change into the clothes they liked.  Decked in new threads, they were off running again, up into the woods, down the path over the fences, around the barn…it was more fun than should be legal.  With all of the energy those two had, a powerful set of arms was needed to hold them still.  Luckily Mom was more than up to the task!

With summer coming to a close, it was great to catch up with my favorite 9 month old client when I met Jack, brother Henry, Mom and Dad at their beautiful home in Worcester, MA.

Jack was up and at ‘em when I arrived, and he couldn’t wait to show me all of his new standing, crawling, and talking skills, as well as busting out his great smile.  Starting off in the front yard, we took advantage of the beautiful weather, hanging out on the lawn and serving up a few of those smiles.  Lapping the house, we checked out the back yard, with Jack enjoying a hangout amongst Dad’s ripening hops, then spending a little time at the chalk board.  Big brother, Henry came out to join us, and showed us the the great smile is a family trait.  Back inside, we found that Jack’s bedroom was just as fun as it was a few months ago, with lots of things to hold onto while standing up, and great books for Henry to read, and compare himself too (did you know he was as big as a whale)!  With everyone having so much fun, we rounded up the entire family and stepped back outside for a few family photos before the brothers ran off to play on the cool fire hydrant in their front yard.  Check back in a few months to see what Jack will do next!
