Marybeth and Tim’s Wedding at St John’s Church in Winthrop. MA, and The Hyatt Harborside in Boston, MA
With a beautiful summer day and one of my favorite views in Boston, I knew that Marybeth and Tim’s wedding day at St. John’s Church in Winthrop, MA, and the Hyatt Harborside in Boston, MA, was going to be a good one. But it was the love between the couple and their family that made the day amazing!
I met Marybeth in her Winthrop, MA home, along with her bridesmaids in their matching bridal robes, and her son, Aiden, looking dapper in his formal wear. It took no time at all for all the ladies to get dressed, smiling and crying happy tears as Marybeth transformed into the bride. Then I stole her away for a few bridal portraits…wrangling the rest of the girls (and Aiden) up for a fun shot before Marybeth and her dad climbed into the vintage Rolls Royce that carried them to the church.
The tears of joy and anticipation continued as the elegant coach pulled up in front of the church, but faded into smiles as the doors opened and Marybeth and Tim laid eyes on each other for the first time. They took each others hands at the front of the church, and held on tight until they exited the church as husband and wife. And into the waiting Rolls, ready for the short drive over to the Hyatt Harborside in Boston, MA. The late after noon was cresting over the cityscape across the harbor when we arrived, and we took advantage of the glow for a few portraits, before heading upstairs where the guests were ready to party. As the sun set through the floor to ceiling windows of the ballroom, Marybeth and Tim began the first of what would become many dances of the evening…and the rest of their lives!

Jessica & Jon’s Engagement Portraits in Boston, MA
The weather report was a bit iffy on Saturday, but with their wedding only a few weeks away, Jessica and Jon decided to risk it. And when the sunset broke over the Charles River, illuminating the Boston skyline on the other side, we all knew we’d made the right choice!
I met Jon a few years ago, when his sister, Amanda, was married at the Museum of Science. So when they asked about a location on the Charles, I suggested a reunion at the Museum. Just behind the museum is an old boathouse covered in Ivy, and that’s where we began our session…taking advantage of the unusual (for the city) patch of high grass, and the creepy old doorways with foreboding old warning signs. Then it was a walk down the riverside, stopping when the views were particularly good, and even taking time to relax on an open dock. We followed the river until we were ready for a change of pace, and hooked back up into the Cambridgeside area, walking through a shady green park and discovering a great fence. Rounding out our stroll, we paused for a photo near Jon’s favorite burrito place before heading to the bar to sit down and discuss their wedding. It’s gonna be a good one, folks, stay tuned over the next few weeks for their photos!

Sophia and Will’s Wedding at the Tupper Manor in Beverly, MA
Part two of this weekends double header found me on the beach at the beautiful old Tupper Manor in Beverly, MA, for the fun and elegant wedding of Sophia and Will.
Sophia has a background in event planning, and when I arrived, everything was running like a well oiled machine with the upstairs devoted to the girls’ hair and makeup and dressing, the billiard room dedicated to the guys’ prep, and the staff busily putting together the ballroom for the cremony and the conservatory for the dinner. After the dressing and pool playing and gift giving and celebratory appetizers and cocktails, Sophia and Will took a moment to connect with each other with a “first touch”. It was a peacefully quiet moment in the midst of the hubub of activity, and just like that, it was over, and they were ready to take on the momentous occasion together.
When they next saw each other, Will was standing at the chuppa with a big smile on his face as Sophia made her way down the aisle to him, escorted by her parents. The smiles continued as the ceremony that forever cemented their relationship ran its course, and they were still smiling as they walked down the aisle hang in hand. And right out the back door to the wooded path that led to the beautiful private beach. Perfect for a romantic few minutes away from the action. A walk on the beach, a few married kisses, and they were ready to get back to the party. The entered the waiting ballroom still holding hands, still smiling, and blowing kisses to the assembled crowd. And the smiles never stopped as evening faded into night, and they finally exited the party through an honor guard of sparklers.

Melanie & Tim’s Wedding at Nashoba Valley Winery in Bolton, MA
A sunny beautiful June weekend is the perfect time to get married, especially when your wedding takes place in a field overlooking the lush vineyards of Nashoba Valley Winery in Bolton, MA. And Melanie and Tim were just the couple to make the stunning vista shine!
I arrived as the vineyard was opening for the day and enjoyed the quiet morning sunshine as I awaited Melanie’s arrival and the whirlwind that accompanies the pre-wedding hours. Melanie and her girls arrived shortly, and we were off like a shot. Upstairs, the bridal suite was prepared with wine and appetizers, and Melanie wasted no time getting into her dress and joining her bridesmaids for a toast. Then it was downstairs for a few bridal portraits before meeting Tim in the tasting room for a joyous first look. First look, looked, the happy couple headed out hand in hand with me for a few bridal portrait s before escaping back up to the bridal suite to hide from their arriving guests. Soon said guests were seated and waiting for the couple to walk down the aisle. And walk down the aisle they did, Tim escorted by their pink tutu clad bulldog, Zoe.
As the sun crested in the sky, their relationship became cemented, and it was time to party. And like all great summer afternoon parties, the guests enjoyed cold drinks, great food, music and dancing, and lawn games…and got great suntans in the process!

Callie, Will, and Leah’s Family Portrait Session in Acton, MA
Bringing a new baby home from the hospital is always an exciting time…and even more so when she has two energetic siblings just waiting to show her the ropes. And, as it turns out, show me the ropes too! And they did just that when I met newborn Callie and older sibs Will and Leah at their lovely home in Acton, MA.
Will and Leah met me at the door with smiles and balled up energy, but it was Callie who was the star of the show, so we wasted no time in heading up to her bedroom to check it out. Mom did a great job of prepping her for her shoot, and she was calm and sleepy…especially with an extra rock with her Mom and sis in her comfy chair. First taking on the guise of a ballerina, she wowed us with her cuteness as she reclined on a convenient bookshelf. Then it was time to jump on Mom and Dad’s bed with her favorite brother and sister. All that bouncing made her a little hungry, so she took a short break, while Will and Leah showed me their back yard wonderland. With it’s playset and trampoline and big shady trees it was perfect for a game of hide and seek before Callie joined us again for a family portrait. She was wide awake at this point, and we finished the photo session gazing into her beautiful baby eyes!
