Melanie & Tim’s Engagement Portraits in Grafton, MA
Melanie and Tim visited me in my hometown of Grafton, MA for a super quick engagement session on a rainy fall day. Well, it was rainy before and after their shoot, but during the session it was as if the weather wanted to celebrate along with them!
We met at the beautiful and historic Grafton Common, where Melanie and Tim’s 4 legged child enjoyed the time in the limelight along with them. After a few photos on the gazebo, we headed over to a historic property across the street, where we took advantage of the festive decorations before heading into the back and hanging out by the cool old barn. We wanted to capture a little bit of the fall color, so we drove just down the road to the town canoe landing to end the session on the banks of a river.

Lucas and Ellie’s Portrait Session in Georgetown, MA
Nearly two years ago I met little Ellie when she first arrived into the world. This week I got to catch up with her, and meet her new little brother, Lucas!
Lucas had just woken up when I arrived at the family’s beautiful Georgetown home. He was in a festive mood, so we began his shoot with the pumpkins. After a few more photos outside, we headed in to wake up big sis. It was Ellie’s turn in the limelight, and Lucas needed a snack, so we switched for a little while. Ellie took me into the back yard where we had a great time playing in the leaves and riding her hobby horse. Circling around to the front porch, the entire family joined in for a perfect family photo.

William’s Portrait Session in Melrose, MA
I met William when I drove up to his family home in Melrose , MA, and he greeted me at the door of my car with a “Hi Jamie, did you bring Luke to play”. His parents had been coaching him on the day’s photo session by showing him photos of me and my family on Facebook. It made us instant friends!
After a couple of photos at the family home, we headed up the road to the Mount Hood Golf Course, where the fall trees were in full bloom, and a playground awaited William’s enthusiastic climbing. From there we headed up the road to a cool old observation tower, stopping at a lovely pond along the way for a few photos of the family together. Then it was back to the family home for a few more shots in the back yard.

Ronik’s 6 Month Portrait Session in Boston, MA
We’re halfway though chronicling Ronik’s first year, and he just keeps getting cuter and cuter! This time we went in search of fall, and after a few photos at his Back Bay apartment, we headed down to a local park, where the trees had graciously shed their leaves so Ronik could bury himself in them. A family cuddle in the grass was next with Ronik throwing his smiles equally at Mom and Dad. Then back to the apartment for the traditional photo on the ottoman, and a few more cuddles with the ‘rents. Looking forward to his next session where we hope to give him a taste of snow…hopefully not literally!

Meredith & Aaron’s Wedding at Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, MA
This weekend I was back at beautiful Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, MA, of of my absolute favorite venues, with the fantastic Meredith and Aaron, who were determined to take full advantage of all of its charm as they celebrated the happiest day of their lives!
They packed a lot into the day, so when everyone arrived at Willowdale we were off like a shot, heading right up to the bridal suite and immediately dressing for the day. After packing all of the bridesmaids into the awesome bridal suite bathtub for a “magazine cover” shot, Meredith headed downstairs to see Aaron for the first time on their wedding day. After an emotional reunion, we took a tour of the property, taking advantage of all of the unique natural and architectural treasures that Willowdale has to offer. We arrived back just in time to meet the family for all of the family photos, then it was time for a wedding!
As the sun set over the courtyard, Meredith and Aaron performed the beautiful ritual that would forever join them, then headed back down the aisle as husband and wife. With the photos already done, they headed right into the cocktail hour to join their guests in the festivities. When the cocktail hour ended, the party moved into the tent, beginning with a bunch of dancing, and only taking brief pauses from the dance floor, for eating, drinking, and speech making. It was a celebration to remember!

Kathleen & Bobby’s Wedding on Thompson Island in Boston, MA
Kathleen and Bobby met when they were both counselors at a summer camp for children with disabilities. So it was only fitting that their wedding should take place at the best summer camp in Boston: Thompson Island in Boston Harbor!
And in keeping with the summer camp theme, Kathleen and Bobby planned an entire weekend of fun. When I arrived on Saturday morning, they’d already enjoyed a night on the island with a big group of their friends and family. Everyone was bright and chipper as the first ferry arrived, and we headed up to the mess hall for breakfast. After breakfast a everyone gathered for a yoga session in the quad, getting their bodies all loosened up for the dancing to come!
After meeting the next group from the ferry, it was time for the happy couple to begin their preparations, separating to different parts of the island to get dressed in their wedding finery. They were ready as quick as a flash, and had an emotional meeting in front of the big house before heading down to the beach for a few photos with their family. Then it was showtime, as both the bride and groom were escorted down the aisle by their parents. In an emotional seaside ceremony, Kathleen and Bobby “became official”, smiling their way down the aisle to greet all of their friends and family. Then we hopped on a golf cart, and decided to explore the island together, taking advantage of the beautiful evening light, and the amazing island locations. We got back to the tent just in time for them to be introduced in to the gathered crowd. As the sun set over the beautiful Boston skyline in the background, Kathleen and Bobby shared their first dance. And as the evening wore on they didn’t stop!
