Erin and Brian’s Wedding at Essex Conference Center and Retreat in Essex, MA
Nestled just outside the quiet seaside town of Essex, MA, is a hidden gem of a property where art and nature are beautifully intertwined, and the shady woods provide the perfect lover’s getaway. The Essex Conference Center and Retreat provided the perfect backdrop for outdoor adventurers Erin and Brian to declare their lifelong commitment to one another.
The bridal suite provided a perfect view of the pond side ceremony location as Erin and her bridesmaids made themselves ready for the big event. Once Erin was in her beautiful white dress, we headed downstairs to give Brian a chance to see his bride to be for the first time on their wedding day. Then we headed down to a perfect shore side location that they had scoped out in advance. After a few photos among the rustic old boat houses, we drove back to the conference center where the ceremony was about to begin. It was a beautiful location for a wedding, with the bridal party gathered on a peninsula in the middle of the pond and the guests gathered on the opposite bank. As Erin and Brian make their vows, the sun came out from behind the clouds and bathed them in a warm light.
After a wedding like that, all that was left was the party. And the folks that Erin and Brian invited to their wedding knew how to do it right! The music and dancing, the food, the wedding whoopee pies, and the ice cream bar kept the crowd joyful and smiling all night. All that was needed for a perfect ending was a bonfire, and as I made my exit, Erin and Brian were cuddled up next to what promised to be a roarer!

Sophia & Will’s Engagement Portraits in Rockport, MA
Fall may be upon us, but summer went out with a real scorcher as I celebrated Sophia and Will’s engagement with them on the historic seaside of Rockport, MA. But as hot as the weather was, it couldn’t compare to the heat of the loving stares that they bestowed upon each other throughout the afternoon.
We began the afternoon at the throat of Bearskin Neck, where the Main Street buildings parted to give an amazing view of the famous Rockport lobster shack. Then we headed up the neck itself, pausing for a bit of ice cream to cool us off. We mined the quaint little street for all of its colors and local charm, exploring the alleys, climbing on the jetty around the lobster shack, and discovering the nooks and crannies off the beaten path. By the time we made it to the jetty at the top of the street, we were satisfied that we’d left no stone unturned in our search for awesome locations. So we decided to change it up a bit, and see if we could catch the sunset at the beach. The little town beach was full of folks looking to stay cool, so we took a short drive down to Long Beach, where the sun was waiting for us so it could throw its last evening rays upon the blissful duo.

Katie & Anthony’s Wedding at Faith Lutheran Church and Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, MA
Summer is drawing toa close, and my favorite part of wedding season is upon us…Fall! When the bright summer sun gives way to golden autumn light, and a cool breeze liftst the hearts of all gathered. And if Katie and Anthony’s wedding at Faith Lutheran Church and Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, MA was any indication, it going to be a great fall!
I began the day with Katie and her closest companions at the Hyatt Place in Braintree, MA, where the beautiful light that was to be our companion all day was filtering through the window, and lighting the pre-wedding fun. It didn’t take long for everyone to get ready, and we headed downstairs for a few photos. A hotel renovation gave us a perfect spot for amazing portraits, and we left the hotel in high spirits. Those high spirits continued as we arrived at Faith Lutheran Church in Quincy, MA for the main event, and once again the light filtering through the beautiful historic church’s windows gave its blessing to the happy couple as they said “I do”. Exiting the church, we headed to the beautiful gardens to the side of the parish for Katie and Anthony’s first photos as husband and wife.
The light only got better as we arrived at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy, MA, and headed down to the amazing church ruins just below the clubhouse. By this time the sun that was our constant companion throughout the day was getting a little tired, and casting its last golden rays into the ballroom as Katie and Anthony enjoyed their first dance. As the party ramped up into full swing, the sunset through the picture windows provided the perfect conclusion to a perfect day.

Emma and Abigail’s portraits in Wakefield, MA (3 Month Edition)
Not long ago (at least it seems that way to me) I was taking 3 month portraits of Abigail…and Mom was trying really hard to balance a nurse’s hat on her head. Last week I experienced a bit of deja vu as we celebrated Emma’s 3 month milestone with the same headpiece and the same balancing act with the same super cute results!
While I get to hang out with these two quite often, we’ve been unlucky in the weather department. So the cool sunny day called out to us as we began the session in the girls’ playroom, capturing baby Emma in all of her 3 month glory. It didn’t take us long to answer the call and we headed down to the park down the street. First up, we gathered the entire family together for a few portraits. Then Emma got a bit of one on one time with each of her parents before a case of the sleepies called her to dreamland. Luckily Abigail was just then getting a yearning for a game of peek a boo around a tree. That led to smiles and fun as she led her Dad and I on an adventure through the park. It was the perfect way to spend a beautiful morning!

11 Month Old Ryan’s Portrait Session in South Boston, MA
Baby smiles are the best, and Ryan flashed his winning smile all afternoon when I met him and his family at their South Boston home for a portrait session!
After I was invited in, Ryan and I immediately set to work playing trucks and blocks. He must have seen something in my block/trucking technique that convinced him that I was OK, because it wasn’t long before he was flashing me one of those million dollar smiles of his. He had more toys in his room, so we checked out his space, and Mom and Dad read him one of his favorite stories. Then he got to cuddle for a bit on their bed with them. From their bedroom window, we could see what a beautiful day it was outside, so we headed out into the back yard for some more photo playtime. By this point, he was getting the hang of this modeling thing, mugging for me in his favorite chair, and cuddling with mom and Dad in the grass. But he wasn’t smiled out yet, so we headed down to the beach, where he flashed his pearly whites in the sun and surf.

Kristen & TJ’s Wedding at the Hawthorne Country Club in Dartmouth, MA
As Kristen was sitting in the hairdresser’s chair, one of her bridesmaids came over to tell her about some small detail that was not going strictly according to plan. Kristen turned to her and said, “People are only allowed to tell me two things today…Kristen, you look beautiful, and Congratulations”. And you know what, she did, and the congratulations flowed all day, and her love and positivity showed on the smile she wore the entire day as she and TJ became husband and wife at the Hawthorne Country Club in Dartmouth, MA!
I began with Kristen and her bridesmaids at the Residence Inn in Dartmouth, MA. It was a flurry of fun as the girls made themselves ready for the big event, then headed out to the stretch limousine that was waiting to take them to the Hawthorne Country Club in Dartmouth, MA. When we arrived, Kristen and TJ’s freinds and family were already gathered on the deck overlooking the green fields of the country club to witness the happy occasion. In a uniquely personal ceremony, Kristen and TJ made their lifelong vows to one another, then exited onto the property for a few photos. Everyone was gathered in the reception room as they were introduced in, and the celebration began. Food and drink and speeches and music and dancing kept everyone in the spirit of the night, and the dance floor was still hopping as I made my exit.
