Sarah & David’s Wedding at the Connors Center in Dover, MA
I celebrated this holiday weekend the way it should be celebrated - with two amazing parties! The first one found me on the elegant grounds of the Connors Family Retreat and Conference Center beautiful Dover, MA for Sarah & David’s lavish affair.
I met Sarah in the bridal suite, as she, her family, and her bridesmaids, were finishing up their turns in the makeup chair, and trying to grab a quick bite of lunch before the excitement started. After a few photos of the pre-wedding preparations, I ducked out to check out the groom’s ready room (complete with air hockey and foosball), while the girls got into their dresses. When I returned, everyone was beautifully dressed in their wedding regalia and ready to be photographed. I took a few portraits with Sarah, using the beautiful light of streaming into the large, antique windows of the bridal suite, before leading her downstairs to see her groom for the first time on their wedding day.
After their emotional meeting, Sarah and David walked around the perfectly manicured grounds of the Connors retreat, where the beautiful natural surroundings provided a magnificent backdrop for their portrait session. Our revolution brought us back around to the terraces beside the big house, where their family and bridal party was waiting for their moment in photos. We breezed through those, then all headed back across the property to the little garden where the ceremony was to take place. The sound of strings carried across the garden, and the live violinist played the soundtrack to Sarah and David’s love story. Under the bright, early summer sky, they said “I Do”, and sealed their union with a kiss. Then they showed us all how the contestants on “Dancing With the Stars” should be moving, with a choreographed first dance, that set the tone for the amazing evening ahead.

Caitlin & Joe’s Engagement/Family Portrait session at Tufts Veterinary School in Grafton MA
A few years ago, Caitlin’s co-workers got together to give her a gift certificate for photography by me for her baby shower. Caitlin has a perfect sense of timing, and waited till Cian was at the cutest he’d ever been before planning the session. Along the way another happy occurance happened in her life, when her true love, Joe, asked her to marry him. So last weekend we met up at Tufts Veterinary School in our mutual hometown of Grafton, MA for a combined engagement and family portrait session.
We started out at a cool little gazebo behind the main administration building, where the rustic stone benches provided a conveninet place for Caitlin and Joe to cuddle up, while Cian warmed up to the idea that it was going to be fun to have his photo taken. Didn’t take long, however, and by the time we’d moved into an adjacent flower patch, Cian was in his full almost-3-year-old glory, exploring the patch, finding big sticks, and picking flowers for Mom and Dad. We moved on to the signature big red barn, where the family braved the ticks to capture photos in the high timothy grass surrounding the structure. Then it was time to find some animals, so we crossed the street to the main campus taking a tour of the horse paddocks, and pausing beside the horse barn for a few more photos of the happy couple. From there we decided to loop back to the car for an outfit change, when we discovered an old stone stadium. We climbed the hundreds of steps but the photos were worth it! Back to the car for a quick outfit change, and Cian was ready to cuddle (and hopefully nap at home)!

Jessica & Phil’s Wedding at Highfield Hall in Falmouth, MA
I am fortunate to be a Massachusetts wedding photographer. People have been building mansions here for hundreds of years, and it seems like at least 60% of thos mansions are now being used to host amazing weddings. Like the perfect wedding that Jessica and Phil pulled off this weekend at Highfield Hall in the Cape Cod town of Falmouth, MA.
My day started when Jessica arrived with her family. We had a busy schedule ahead of us, so I quickly grabbed a few shots of her dress and shoes before she put them on. Once dressed we were ready to head outside to take advantage of Highfield’s beautiful grounds for family photos. After a round of family photos with Jessica and her family, we whisked them back away to the bridal suite so that I could grab some photos of Phil and his family. The family photos kept us busy until it was time for the main event to begin. With the early summer sun casting warmth on the grounds of Highfield, Jessica and Phil proclaimed their eternal love for one another. Walking with them as they exited the ceremony, the love never left their faces, as they realized that they were man and wife. We met the family at the front porch for a few more photos, before heading off to explore the property. We began our tour at the sunken gardens, then moved over the community theater next to the main house. Leaving the theater, we headed down a little path through the woods, and found a cool old abandoned house.
Since we couldn’t top the coolness of that location, we headed back to the main house, where Jessica and Phil were able to join their family and friends for a bit of their cocktail hour, before waltzing into the reception and starting off the dance party that lasted into the night.
