Laura & Chris’ Wedding at The Saphire Estate in Sharon, MA
A hot summer day, hot love, and a hot classic car (though it pains me to say that - it was born the same year as I was) were the perfect recipe for Laura & Chris’ wedding at the Saphire Estate in Sharon, MA on Friday evening.
It may have been hot outside, but it was cool inside the bridal suite as Laura, her sister and her Mom (the entire wedding party) arrived to get dressed. Quick as a flash they were beautifully adorned and ready to take on the late July evening. Before we could meet the family for come pre-ceremony photos in the garden, however, there was the small matter of Laura and Chris seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. As I photographed their reunion it occurred to me that I would have no problem getting them to show their love for each other in the photographs!
After a few family photos, the ceremony was ready to begin. The late summer sun reflected in as Laura and Chris pledged their lives to each other. They drank wine, exchanged rings that had belonged to cherished family members, and smiled at each other a lot! And the smiles didn’t stop when Chris broke the glass and the crowd cried Mazel Tov! To the contrary, they were still going strong, when we took Laura’s Dad’s classic MG down to the lake for some photos of the newly minted family. Then it was a short drive up the hill to the party, where Laura and Chris’ friends and family were waiting with food, dancing and music well into the night!

Christine & Pete’s Wedding at Sacred Heart Church in Quincy, MA and The Seaport Hotel in Boston, MA
Summer in the city - but with a perfect day like we had for Christine and Pete’s Boston wedding on Saturday, there were no worries about dirty and gritty necks, just fun and fishing boats.
My part in the day began in Christine’s suite at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, MA, where she had a stunning view of the harbor and the city skyline. It was a bustle of activity as Christine and her bridesmaids rotated between the snack table, the makeup chair, and the dressing room. With all of the furious preparation, it was no time at all before we everyone was dressed and ready to board the party bus for Sacred Heart Church in Quincy, MA.
At the church we quickly offloaded the bus, so that Pete could hop on and spend a quiet moment with Christine before the ceremony. Then it was time for the main event, with the historic old church providing a beautiful backdrop for Christine and Pete’s nuptials. The ceremony was as perfect as the day, and afterwards, Christine and Pete greeted their friends as Mr. and Mrs. Niles, before hopping back on the bus for a whirlwind tour of the city.
Our first stop was Christine and Pete’s apartment in Quincy, once the school that Pete’s Mom attended as a child, and now an awesome place to live. From there we headed to Post Office Square, where the lush green gardens and beautiful light made it the perfect background for family photos. Finally we headed back to the seaport district, where Christine Pete and I walked all around finding cool and unique locations for their first portrait session as a married couple. We walked and shot until our feet rebelled, and by then it was time to join Christine & Pete’s friends and family for the cocktail hour and reception at the Seaport Hotel, Where the agenda was fun, food, and dancing well into the night.

Katie & Jeremy’s Wedding at The Ellison Center in Duxbury, MA and Jones River Trading in Kingston, MA.
After a few weeks shooting weddings in Pennsylvania, my first wedding back was a couple who traveled from the west coast to get married here in MA. Katie and Jeremy’s was my 4th destination wedding in a row, but the destination was lovely Massachusetts! Sort of -
We started the day at Katie’s childhood home in Duxbury, MA (so it was a homecoming wedding for her), where her bridesmaids and soon-to-be stepdaughter were on hand to help her into her beautiful gown. Once dressed, we headed into the yard for some bridal portraits, utilizing some of the same locations where Katie was photographed for her prom photos! Before we knew it, the trolly arrived to take the girls to the Ellison Center in Duxbury, MA for the ceremony.
Upon arrival, Katie and the bridesmaids made their way down the flower hedged path, to the building, where a string quartet was already playing the chords that would guide them down the aisle. Katie made her way to the stage, where Jeremy was waiting to make their lifelong profession of love. With the smiling crowd watching, they were married, and made their way down the aisle, and back through the tunnel of flowers.
Then it was picture time, stopping off at a small park near the water for some family photos, then heading to Jones River Trading in Kingston, where the old mill buildings provided an awesome background for some couple portraits. But not too many! Katie and Jeremy had set aside enough time for photos, that they were able to join the cocktail hour in mid party. And the party never stopped, with the always awesome Boston wedding band, Men In Black, keeping the crowd dancing, and bringing up Katie’s new stepsons for guest vocals!

Caroline & Fran’s Wedding at Sacred Heart Church in Lewisburg PA
Part 3 of my Pennsylvania wedding trilogy found me celebration with my own family at the wedding of my step-cousin-in-law Caroline to the love of her life, Fran.
I met Caroline at the Sacred Heart Church, where a classroom was quickly converted to a ready room for the girls to grab a bite of lunch and change into their wedding finery. That accomplished, we had a few minuted to roam around the church with Caroline, finding a few cool little nooks and crannies to showcase her wedding day beauty, while the bridesmaids pulled guard duty to ensure that no one else saw her before she walked down the aisle. And they were very good at their job! Caroline was resplendent when she walked down the aisle and debuted her lovely, antique styled dress to the waiting crowd and her soon to be husband. A choir sang as they became husband and wife - literally - with beautiful choruses ringing out from the choir loft throughout the ceremony.
After the last song was sung, Caroline and Fran exited the church as a newly married couple, and stepped into a waiting van for a whirlwind tour of Lewisburg. We saw (and photographed) all of the sights, starting with beautiful Soldier’s park on the banks of the Susquehanna. A quick drive over the bridge brought us to the Lewisburg Dog Wash :), then it was off to a colorful old mill building for some fun wedding party shots. That done, we were ready to head off to the Silver Moon Banquet Hall, where the crowd was waiting to welcome Caroline and Fran to the party. In true Fourth of July weekend fashion, there was food and fun and fireworks!
