Emilia’s Portrait Session in Arlington, MA
On Monday, I had the opportunity to meet Emilia - an angel with beautiful curly locks, and the brightest blue eyes I have ever seen! I also had the opportunity to catch up with Emilia’s Mom, Shelly, an old friend that I’d reconnected with on Facebook. I love Facebook!
We met at Emilia’s home in Arlington, MA. After quick introductions, we haded into Emilia’s play room, where she had a great time playing with a few of her favorite toys. Then we headed outside to play a bit in the sandbox, walk around the yard a bit, and ride her bike. After all of that work, it was time for a banana break! Finally we headed up to Emilia’s bedroom, where Grandma had painted a beautiful garden scene on the wall, and Emilia had a good time looking out the window. After all this fun, Emilia was tired, and she fell asleep in Grandma’s lap.

Dianne & Barnaby’s Narragansett Wedding
Sarturday’s wedding had me traveling to the quaint seaside village of Narragansett, RI, for the multi-backyard wedding of Dianne and Barnaby.
Backyard 1 is where we began the day, at the home across the street from the main event. After Dianne and her bridesmaids were quickly dressed and bejeweled, we headed into the backyard of the rented house, where an old school clothesline caught my eye. Needless to say, I had to find a way to incorporate it into the photos! From the clothesline, to the neighbor’s garage, to the weatherbeaten clapboards on the neighbor’s house, we found some very unique backgrounds for Dianne’s bridal portraits.
Then it was across the street to the family’s beach house, where the guys were finishing up their preparations. Once I had a few minutes with the fellas, I headed out to backyard #2 - the backyard of another neighbor - where the ocean facing chairs were set up for the ceremony. Soon the guests began to file in, and the ceremony began, with live music from a violin and guitar accompanying the bridal party (and the bridal dog) down the grassy aisle. The beautiful afternoon sun was accompanied by a light, warm sea breeze as Dianne and Barnaby professed their never ending love.
For their portrait session we headed over to backyard #1 again, and again the clothesline came into play. Then backyard #2 for some ocean side portraits, then we saw some cool stuff in someone else’s backyard and headed their as well! Our backyard hopping journey finally brought us to backyard #3, where the oceanfront tent was set up for the reception. And it was in backyard 3 as the sun set over the ocean, where we celebrated the bride and groom, dancing and singing along with the songs played by the DJs, and eating the Delicious gourmet backyard BBQ fare that included a vegan wrap that delighted the taste buds of this die hard carnivore!

Amanda and Dave’s wedding at the Museum of Science, Boston
Can you imagine anything cooler than a wedding where you can kiss in the shade of a life sized T-Rex? Amanda and Dave did just that on Saturday when they were married at the Museum of Science in Boston!
We began the day at the ultra cool Hotel Marlowe, where Amanda, her bridesmaids and her family were getting ready with the help of celebrity stylist Frankie Barbosa. Once everyone was dressed and beautified, we headed downstairs to the leopard print and red velvet festooned lounge of the hotel for a quick bridal portrait shoot, before all hopping in the limo and braving the Boston crowds. Amanda and Dave decided to see each other before the ceremony, and wanted a bit of Boston in the background of their photos, so we headed down to the Moakley Courthouse. After taking a moment for Amanda and Dave to see each other for the first time, we grabbed some photos around the courthouse. Then it was time to head to the museum.
The day was perfect for an outdoor wedding, warm, with a light breeze, as Amanda and Dave made their vows underneath the antique pavilion in back of the Museum. After the ceremony we headed into the museum…first into the butterfly garden, then around and about the museum, using the cool backdrop to create some unique photos. Our circuit brought us back to the reception tent, where the guests were starting to be seated. What followed was love, food, and laughter. The sun set on the rocking party as the band, Unity, kept the dance floor filled all night.

Sarah & Shawn’s Wedding at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton MA
There may have been fireworks all over the country on Saturday, but the real celebration was happening at the Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton, MA, as Sarah and Shawn celebrated their wedding!
I met Sarah and her ladies at the country club in the afternoon, and hung out with them in the bridal suite as they prepared for the wedding. Since the bridal suite was just off the reception hall, as soon as Sarah was dressed and ready, we used the awesome lighting in the reception room to capture her bridal portraits. Then, since everyone was in the same building, I had the chance to hang out with Shawn and the guys as they were hanging out and waiting for the action. We didn’t have to wait long, and after a few photos, we headed out to the garden, where the weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony.
The ceremony went off without a hitch, and soon Sarah and Shawn were walking off together for their first photos as a married couple. We started out a a beautiful little shaded area on the course, but I quickly spotted a cool maintenance building that gave us another option. Gas pumps anyone :)! Soon enough, however, it was time to head back, and the family was waiting with warm greetings as the reception got underway. That’s when the fireworks really started, as the Event Connection DJ kept the room jumping the entire night!

The Fawaz Family Portraits North Andover, MA
As a wedding photographer it’s a rare privilege to be a part of the beginning of so many new families. Even cooler than that, is the privilege of being a continuing part of the family as it grows! I photographed Anna and Todd’s wedding back in 2005, so I was super excited when Anna contacted me a few weeks ago to photograph the newest addition to their family - 5 month old Tyler! We wandered all around the house photographing him as he awoke from his nap, rolled around on Mom and Dad’s bed, had some tummy time, read some stories, and had a bath…even taking a few photos in a trash can. It was a very busy morning for Tyler, and a very fun shoot!
