UPDATE:

Congratulations to contest winners Susan and Mike from Dedham. Susan’s story of love and loss is incredibly moving, and I am honored to be a part of their special day on February 28. Thanks to all who took part in this year’s contest and shared a piece of your life!

***************************************************************************************************************************

It’s not something I’ve really shared about on this blog, but I have had the privilege to give back a little to the community by giving away a free wedding every year since I’ve been in business. Along the way I have met some really extraordinary people with some really cool stories to tell, and photographed in some really cool venues that I otherwise would have missed out on (like a firehouse!).

So I’m excited to begin looking for the next extraordinary couple for my 2009 wedding photography giveaway. If you are getting married between February 21 and April 4th, 2009, shoot me an email, and let’s talk. You could be the winner of a free photography package valued at $2750.

This year I’m looking for your story. I want to hear about your life…your love, your losses, your ups and downs. I want to hear about your wedding, who you are marrying, what he/she means to you. I want to be invested in your life before I even meet you. In a nutshell, I am looking for someone who can’t really afford a wedding, but is not letting that stop them from making a lifelong commitment to his/her soulmate. The person with the story that moves me the most wins the package.

Here’s what the winner will get:
- Up to 6 continuous hours of photographic coverage by me.
- Up to 200 print-ready large-resolution digital images on disc.

To Qualify:
- The wedding must take place between February 21 and April 4th, 2009
- The wedding must take place within 60 miles of my home in Grafton, MA
- You must send me an email with your love story to info@jamisonwexler.com

Saturday marked my first wedding of 2009, when Ryanne married Ryan at St Richard parish in Danvers. I don’t get too many winter weddings…maybe that’s because it always snows on them! Saturday’s snowstorm was OK, though. Not only did it allow us to get some really cool snowy nighttime photos, but it also held off until everyone was safely tucked into the hotel for the evening.

My day began at Salon D’Amore in Danvers as Ryanne’s hair was getting it’s finishing touches. From there we headed over to Salon 21, also in Danvers, for the make-up. Once all the girls were fully beautified, we headed to the historic Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, where Ryanne was dressed in her beautiful gown. As a wedding photographer, having enough time to get in all of the creative ideas I have can often be a challenge, but Ryanne was ready so quickly that he had lots of time to take a range of bridal portraits in a variety of locations.

Quick as a flash it was time for the ceremony, and we all headed to St Richard Parish in Danvers. The ceremony was beautiful as the happy couple was backlit by thousands of holiday lights, and cheered by hundreds of guests. After the ceremony we all headed back to the Hawthorne for the elegant reception where the music of DJ Chris Culkeen and the exuberant celebration of Ryanne and Ryan’s many friends and family members belied the icy conditions outside.

The last day of 2008 also brought me my last wedding of 2008…and the first wedding photos from 2009!  Kelley and Dennis’ year spanning event took place at the Topsfield Commons in Topsfield MA.

We started the day at the Commons, were I met Kelley and her bridesmaids fresh back from the salon.  After some photos of the getting ready fun, Kelley and Dennis saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.  Then we spent the time leading up to the ceremony taking fun photos with the bridal party that involved lifting furniture with the bride still on it!

Next it was time for the ceremony.  The main room of the common was made a perfect backdrop for a very New England wedding.  After the ceremony we took a few more photos, then Kelley and Dennis were able to enjoy a few minutes of the cocktail hour with their friends.

The reception started with the couple’s first dance, then the toasts, then on to dinner (and man was that filet good…I mainly do this for the food, you know!).  As the night progressed, the excitement grew, culminating in the New Years countdown that had everyone kissing the old year out and kissing the new year in!
